Who is the course for?
The C&G 2357 qualification will be for those who work as or want to work as electricians. Information on learner eligibility will be added as it becomes available.
Do I need to be employed as an electrcian to start this qualification?
Initially no, the theory units can be achieved through study, You don't have to be employed in the electrcial contracting indusrty but you can only successfully achieve the practical units with genuine workplace experience and evidence.
What will I be doing on the course?
The course combines electrical theory, and practical skills assessed in the workplace. All the units are listed below and the titles give an indication as to what is involved.

306 Understanding the principles, practices and legislation for the termination and connection of conductors, cables and cords in electrical systems
307 Understanding principles, practices and legislation for the inspection, testing, commissioning and certification of electrotechnical systems and equipment in buildings, structures and the environment
308 Understanding the principles, practices and legislation for diagnosing and correcting electrical faults in electrotechnical systems and equipment in buildings, structures and the environment
309 Understanding the electrical principles associated with the design, building, installation and maintenance of electrical equipment and systems
311 Applying Health and Safety legislation and working practices (installing and maintaining electrotechnical systems and equipment)
312 Applying environmental legislation, working practices and the principles of environmental technology systems
313 Overseeing and organising the work environment (electrical installation)
315 Planning, preparing and installing wiring systems and associated equipment in buildings, structures and the environment
