Who is the course for ?

This course and qualification is suitable for practising Electricians, domestic electrical installers, contract managers, allied trades and other related trades with a good working knowledge of the wiring regulations, and have already achieved the City &Guilds Certificate 16th Edition (BS 7671: 2001)
 
                        
                   How long is the course ?

The course duration is approximately 6 hours which can be spread over 1 day or 2 evenings as required by the client - sessions consists of formal instruction and culminates in a 1 hour multiple choice  online test covering the underpinning knowledge relating to the content and application of BS 7671 17th Edition. The exam is 'open book', meaning during the one hour exam you will be able to refer to the 17th edition regulation book.                         


Prior to being enrolled for the exam you must provide us with the original copy of your current 2381 certificate, it is a City & Guilds requirement that we retain a copy for our records. If you do not have a 16th edition certificate the qualifications listed below are the alternative entry requirements,

  • C&G Level 3 Certificate in the Requirements for Electrical Installations    BS 7671: June 2001 (2381)
  • C&G Level 3 Certificate in Electrotechnical Technology Installation(Building and Structures) (2330-07)
  • C&G Level 3 Certificate in Electrotechnical Technology Electrical Maintenance (2330-08)
  • C&G Level 3 Certificate in Electrical Installation Part Two (2360) (from January 1st 2004 onwards only)
