Already working as an electrician, but with no qualifications as yet to prove your skills? With the Electrotechnical Services NVQ, you can change that. It's a recognised way to prove you meet the National Occupational Standards for an electrician - based on your day-to-day work.
Who are they for?
The Electrotechnical Services NVQ is for people who have achieved the 2330 levels 2 and 3 or more and are already working as electricians, or in a similar role.
What will I be doing on the course? You will be expected to provide evidence from the workplace to satisfy the requirements of the NVQ standards: For Electrical Installation (Building & Structures) - 8 units have to be achieved.
Core Units
301 Ensure safe site working (x2)
302 Diagnose and correct faults.
303 Provide technical and functional information,
304 Maintain a safe and healthy working environment (x2).
Occupation Route Units
305 Prepare to install wiring systems, wiring enclosures and equipment.
306 Install wiring systems, wiring enclosures and equipment.
307 Connect wiring systems and equipment using safe and approved methods
308 Inspect, Test and Commission an Electrical Installation (x2).
Candidates must achieve all 4 core units and all 4 units in the Electrical Installation (Building & Structures) route.
