2377-77 In Service Inspection & Testing of Electrical Equipment (PAT

 The course contains both theory and practical electrical training elements.     

              Areas of study include;

             -   Hazards of Electricity

             -   Classification of Appliances

             -   Dangers

             -   Legal Requirements

             -   IEE Code of Practice

             -   Recording Results & using a PAT Tester.

     No previous qualifications are required to be eligible for the City and Guilds 2377-77 PAT Testing course.

     It is advisable that candidates have some basic PAT Testing knowledge and any previous electrical training would be advantageous.

     We suggest the following timescales as a guide:                         

2 Day Course - is suitable for people with good to basic electrical / testing knowledge

3 Day Course - is suitable for people with very little electrical experience.

Candidates will require a current copy of the IEE Code of Practice for In-service Inspection and Testing 5^th Edition in order to sit the exam.

The C&G 2377-77 PAT Testing course will conclude with a 50 question online examination and a practical assessment.

This will be an open-book examination, lasting 1.5 hours.

Certificates are issued from C&G only after successful completion of the online exam and practical assessment.

The C&G 2377-77 is aimed at anyone who has a responsibility to set and control a system in order to maintain electrical equipment (portable appliances). This can include:

PAT Managers

Facilities Managers

Health and Safety Operatives

PAT Technicians

Candidates do not have to be practicing electricians, but should have a basic knowledge of electrical and PAT Testing principles.

On completion of this PAT Testing training course successful candidates should be able to undertake basic PAT Testing, keep records to satisfy the Electricity at Works Regulations and maintain administrative records.
